Broadband provider Plusnet is owned by BT, but it's run independently and very much its own brand. In recent years it's become a key player in the UK broadband market, and has become known for strong customer service.
What does Plusnet offer?
Plusnet offers a range of standard-speed and fibre broadband packages, and unusually offers broadband-only packages too - where you still need a phone line, but it doesn't have to be with Plusnet. And while Plusnet doesn't offer its own TV service, you can opt for Youview TV from Plusnet, which includes BT Sport Lite.
How good is Plusnet's customer service?
Plusnet makes a big play of its 24/7 UK-based customer support, and it seems to pay off. In our Feb 2019 poll on broadband customer service it was rated 'great' by an impressive 57% of almost 850 MoneySavers, while just 16% said it was 'poor'.
Plusnet offers three types of unlimited broadband package, from the entry level standard-speed option to its fastest Fibre Extra offer with superfast average speeds of 66Mb. Plusnet's standard-speed broadband is available to 99% of the UK while over 80% can get its fibre packages.
Plusnet line rental
It comes with free calls to other Plusnet numbers, but if you plan to use it for much else, you have a choice of calls packages including Unlimited UK and Mobile calls and Anytime International. It also offers Line Rental Saver which provides a discount over the monthly cost of line rental, if you can afford to pay for it upfront.
While Plusnet doesn't offer its own full TV service, fibre customers can opt to add Youview TV from Plusnet. This includes 70+ Freeview TV and radio channels, 20 premium entertainment channels and BT Sport Lite included as standard, while for a little extra you can add full BT Sport.
